LAWRENCE E FREEMAN CLU
Lawrence E. Freeman is Chairman and founder of CDO Capital, Inc. He contributes a unique perspective, knowledge and experience to CDO Capital, Inc. Mr. Freeman has organized and owned multiple businesses related to the banking, insurance, and investment industries. In 1973, Mr. Freeman began his career in the life insurance industry and demonstrated his capacity for hard work as a personal producer as he became a member of the “Million Dollar Roundtable”. He was named “Rookie of the Year” by Massachusetts Mutual Life Insurance in his first year. In the mid-l980’s he was co-owner of an industry-leading insurance agency specializing in association marketing that had more than 600 contracted and producing agents.
In 1975, Mr. Freeman securitized his first business transaction using United States Legal Reserve life insurance company contracts to guarantee investor interests in a German Company, listed on the Luxemburg stock exchange, with all investors from Spain in an Australian mining venture. As a pioneer in this industry, Freeman developed a proprietary network to develop the collateral required to securitize CDO Capital bonds and provide the supply of quality contracts.
In 1980, Mr. Freeman began a career in investment banking through the formation of various investment banking and consulting companies, including Raging Bull Capital. Through his investment banking activities, Mr. Freeman assumed a position as vice president and director of marketing for Builders Staff, Inc., an international construction firm with more than 5000 employees. He was elevated to the position of chief operating officer in 1996 and implemented a reorganization and sale plan for the company.
In 2000, when new legislation made currency trading legal for individual investors, Mr. Freeman conceptualized the integration of the use of the new CDOs to insure investors’ funds from losses created by currency trading (FOREX) volatility. Mr. Freeman is a former principal with Elsworth-Berg Capital Management, Inc. where he developed the first collateralized currency trading platform to protect investors’ funds from losses.
Mr. Freeman holds a BS in Business Management from University of Nevada, Las Vegas and a Chartered Life Underwriter designation from The American College in Human Life Studies at Bryn Mar, Pennsylvania.
